The Stone Temple Pilots won't be heading Down Under next month after all.

The rockers canceled all of their upcoming gigs Wednesday, including their spot on Australia's traveling Soundwave festival set to get under way at the end of February.  But it looks like those STP fans disappointed about missing the band in concert will still have something to look forward to.

According to "Loudwire," the group nixed the shows to continue working on their new album.  It will be their first full-length release since bringing in Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington last year.  The new-look Stone Temple Pilots made their recorded debut with the five-track EP "High Rise" back in October.

Meanwhile, Soundwave organizers have booked Aussie rockers the Living End to replace the Stone Temple Pilots.  This year's festival is being headlined by Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold, and will also feature Alice in Chains, A Day to Remember, Mastodon, Megadeth, and more.
